[Class 28 (i)] The door of an oven is formed with a transparent inspection panel b, retained in the main frame a by a backing frame c, and the panel is associated withahinged opaque cover e having an inner light reflecting surface which assists in illuminating the oven when the cover is swung down. The hinge is formed by a crossrod or trunnions f which are'received in recesses g in the inside edges of the lower parts of the frame a, and are retained therein by plates h. The cover e has inturned edges j which stiffen it and aid in its retention in the closed position, and if desired, a ball catch for example, in the top part of the frame, may be arranged to engage a hole in the upper flange j. A chain m limits the movement of the cover. The panel b may comprise double panes with an air space between them.
