To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, FRANK K. BERRY, a citizen of the United States of America, residing at Battle Creek, in the county of Calhoun and State of, Michigan, have invented certain new and useful Im rovements in Oven-Doors, of which the ollowing is a specification, reference being had therein to theaccompanying drawings.
The invention relates to even doors having transparent panels for inspection within the oven, and consists in the means employed' for positioning and securing the glass panel as hereinafter set forth.
'In the drawings: Figure 1 is a sectional perspective view of the door; and Fig. 2 is a cross section on the line rc-0c of Fig. 1.
A is a door frame, preferably formed of cast metal and provided with an open center.
B is a transparent panel for the open center of 'the frame, which rests upon a suitable yielding bearing, such as a sheet. of as best-0s C adjacent to the frame.
For centering the panel within the frame and securing formed of sheet metal bent into a channel section, the outer flange E bearing against the concave inner face of the frame A, and the flange F forming a shoulder adjacent to the edge of the glass. The flan e-F will thus center the glass, and to hol it from disengagement from said flange, portions thereof are struck outward to form glassretaining fingers G. 1. An oven door, comprising a frame, a glass panel seated therein, spacersbetween the edge of said glass panel and the edge of the frame formed of channel bars, and securing means forsaid spacers, one of said spacers having a portion of its edge adjacent the edge of the frame bent to extend in substantially the lane of the Webortion of the spacer and eyond the edge 0 the panel to hold the same from disengagement.
2. An oven door, comprising an annular frame having a concave convex cross-section, a glass panel seated'within'said frame,
