[Class 28 (i)] A double panel b<1>, b<2> of refractory glass is accorninodated in the door or wall of an oven or stove, the panes b<1>, b<2> being spaced by packing strips e preferably of asbestos, and located by flanges a<5>, a<2> and a retaining plate c. The packing strips e are preferably provided with mitred ends so that when placed in position they form a rectangular frame, which is slightly compressed under the action of screws f threaded into lugs g. The joints around the edges of the panes bl, b<2> may be made with jointing cement. The plate c may be provided with a stiffening rib. As shown, the invention is applied to an oven door, the rear contact face a<5> of which projects from the plane of the plate c. Specification 401,704 is referred to.
