450,113. Winding webs. HAUBOLD AKT.-GES., C. G., 2, Uhlichstrasse, Chemnitz, Germany. March 12, 1935, Nos. 7703 and 7704. Convention dates, March 12, 1934 and April 7, 1934. [Class 100 (i)] In a web-winding machine, the winding drums 6 and the roll spindle 7 are driven throughout the winding operation by separate electric motors 8, 9 respectively, the motor 7 being of the kind in which the torque increases as the speed decreases. As shown, the motor 9 is supplied with current from a generator 10 which is driven by the motor 8, the tension of the wound web being adjustable by means of a resistance 11. In a modification, both motors 8, 9 are driven from the mains.
