Spindle-driving apparatus.- The spindles and bobbins of flyer spinning - machines are driven by an alternating-current motor which comprises two rotors 6, 7 connected respectively to the spindle and bobbintube. The inner rotor 6 is formed with definite poles so that it rotates synchronously and the outer rotor 7 is formed as the rotor of an induction motor. The drag of the yarn increases the slip of the rotor 7 so that the bobbin tube rotates at a slightly less speed than the spindle. The difference in speed between the two rotors may be adjusted to any desired extent by varying the voltage supplied to the stator winding.
