Drawings to Specification. [Class 120 (ii)] The flyer or bobbin of flyer spinning, twisting, or like frames is dragged by means of an asynchronous alternating current motor the synchronous speed of which is lower than the normal operating speed, so that the flyer or bobbin is assisted when starting up and thereafter the drag increases with the speed. A suitable arrangement consists in using an asynchronous motor for the driven element, that is flyer or bobbin, and a similar motor for the dragged element, that is bobbin or flyer, each motor being fed at the same frequency but the latter have a fractional number of poles.
