Abstract
348,796. Induction motors. SIEMENS SCHUCKERTWERKE AKT.-GES., Siemensstadt, Berlin. March 26, 1930, No. 9667. Convention date, June 12, 1929. [Class 35.] In a double squirrel cage rotor for an induction motor the starting winding is connected to short - circuiting rings by connections having a higher resistance than the end rings which are spaced apart from the end rings of the running winding. As shown, the bars 13 of the starting winding are connected to short-circuiting rings 15 of small diameter by radial lugs 14. The lugs 14 may consist of resistance material or they may carry a resistance winding. Alternatively the lugs 14 may be parallel to the axis forming continuations of the bars 13 or they may be inclined to the axis. The short-circuiting rings 17 of the running winding 12 are located on the ends of the rotor.
