Abstract
449,813. Knitting - machine needles. JONES, T. H., The Aspens, Breck Hill Road, Woodthorpe, Nottinghamshire. Feb. 16, 1935, No. 5049. [Class 74 (ii)] A needle, for use, e.g. in a straight-bar knitting-machine, in the production of ladder-proof fabric such as is described in Specification 329,098, [Class 74 (ii)], has a subsidiary beard 25 opposed to the ordinary spring beard 21 and capable of being acted on by a subsidiary presser 27 to imprison the course of locking loops LL. In a modified form these loops are held by a slidable forked element attached to the needle stem and acting as individual presser for the main beard. This element has a compound movement along and away from the needle stem. Specifications 269,844, [Class 74 (ii)], and 412,524 also are referred to.
