449,265. Boxes. LAIRD & SON, Ltd., J., PATRICK, R., BUCHAN, J. C., and SMITH, R. A., 101, Carstairs Street, Glasgow. Jan. 1, 1935, No. 103. [Class 18] In a box of the kind having locking flaps associated with a closure panel wherein the flaps are inserted into a gap or slot in the box and open out so that they cannot be withdrawn without damaging the box, at least one side or end comprises an inner panel b<1>, c<3> and two outer panels b<2>, b<3> ; c<1>, c<2> locking flaps n, d ; e, f, being carried by the two outer panels which on closing the box abut against the inner surface of the inner panel. After folding the blank to tube form and glueing &c. flap m into place, panels b<1>, c<3> are first folded, b3, c<1> being folded thereover and the flaps d, d<1>, d<2> e, e<1>, e<2> folded flat and inserted through slots k, l, respectively. Panels b<2>, c<2> are folded over lastly and flaps n, n<1>, n<2> ; f, f<1>, f<2> are inserted between the sides of the inner panels b<1>, c<3> and the side of box body.
