448,948. Electromagnets. HALL, N., Westgarth, Lyndhurst Grove, Low Fell, Gateshead. Jan. 18, 1935, No. 1752. [Class 35] In an organ electromagnet comprising an armature parallel in its attracted position to the fixed core and with its end bent in arcuate form to co-operate with the fixed core end, the armature pivot consists of a pin secured to the armature or the base carrying the electromagnet and pressed into a groove on the other of these members by a resilient member. In the form shown in Fig. 3, the pin 3 is pressed into the groove in the armature 2 by a plate 4 and is urged against the groove in the bifurcated end of the magnet support 1 by a spring strip 5. In the form shown in Fig. 4, the end of the armature 2 is formed with a pivot pin 2b resting in a groove in the base 1 and maintained therein by the strip 5 and the spring 8. In both forms, the armature has an arcuate portion to co-operate with the end of the magnet core and as shown in Fig. 4 is mounted in an insulating box. The armature is connected to a wiper 10 for engaging contacts 11, the circuit to which is completed through spring 8, and arm 2 to the wiper 10.
