Abstract
513,502. Electromagnets. LIST, H. April 12, 1938, No. 11136. Convention date, April 12, 1937. [Class 35] [Also in Group XXXVIII] The armature 8 of a two-position indicator is arranged within the operating coil 5 and normally lies adjacent one pole 3 of a yoke member having a second pole 10 external to the coil. The armature and pole 10 are provided with overturned ends and the arrangement is such that when the coil 5 is energised, the armature is repelled by the pole 3 and attracted by the pole 10 to produce a more uniform force throughout the stroke of the armature. The armature is restored to its normal position by a spring 9 which is held in position by the end 8' of the armature which may be pivotally mounted as shown or supported on a knife-edge bearing on the yoke.
