Abstract

551,804. Electromagnetic interrupters. STERN, W. Oct. 25, 1941, No. 13760. [Class 38 (v)] An interrupter which may be used as a flasher or a load limiter comprises an electromagnet 6 which attracts a pivoted armature 5 which in turn actuates a contact lever 3, of the same size and shape for example by engaging an adjustable screw 9 on it. A blade spring 7 fixed to the contact lever 3 and bearing on a common pivot 4 for the two levers acts frictionally to retard the movement of lever 3 and so ensure a longer ' break' period. Both levers are gravity controlled.
