Abstract
552,112. Electromagnetic switches. LANDIS & GYR SOC. ANON. Aug. 24, 1942, No. 11888. Convention date, Aug. 25, 1941. [Class 38 (v)] In an electromagnetic switch in which the armature 1, pivoted at 7, carries an arm 3 forming a toggle link with an arm 9 pivoted on a blade spring 10, the spring 10 is longitudinally adjustable so as to obtain a greater or less symmetry of toggle action. In the form shown the armature 1 is tilted one way or the other by energization of one or other of the two electromagnets. The energy of the dead-centre action is partly absorbed when contact spring (not shown) is engaged and because of this very sensitive switches may be designed. The armature is pivoted on a pin 7 which, during assembly, is passed through holes in the arm 3 and the two sides of a V-shaped frame and is then fixed to the frame by a screw 18 which passes through a strap 17 fixed to the pin 7. An extension 9a of the arm 9 indicates the position of the switch.
