Convention date, June 13, 1934. 38 (iv)] In apparatus in which a load circuit, such as valves in a wireless set, is supplied at constant potential from electrodes in a gaseous discharge path, one auxiliary current path is automatically connected in parallel with part of the discharge path after it has been ignited. The anodes and the cathodes of valves may be connected by leads A1, K across the electrodes B3, B2 or B1 and O, while the grids G1, G2 are connected to potentiometers R1, R2 in parallel with the discharge path across electrodes O, C. When the anode current flow through relay Ra and discharge path O, C is sufficient, relay Ra closes contacts r<1>, r<11> so that resistance W and holding relay Rh are connected in parallel with the discharge path and relay Ra is also short circuited.
