443,262. Concrete piles. RODIO, G., 14, Corso Venezia, Milan, Italy. Jan. 2, 1935, No. 180. Convention date, June 9, 1934. [Class 68 (ii)] Reinforced and other concrete piles or like columns are made in a preparation tube 1 under liquid pressure by forcing concrete through a pipe 7 which passes through the liquid 11 in the tube and ends above the surface of the concrete 10. The tube 1 is withdrawn by the pressure of the concrete and the liquid above it. Water glass or other coagulating agents may be added to the liquid in order to produce a water-tight skin on the surface of the concrete in contact with the water and the ground. Another pipe resembling the pipe 7 may be allowed to remain in the pile; and may be used for injecting cement to form footings or widenings. When the concreting is finished, the reinforcements, which are bent down before putting on the cap 4, are straightened out for the attachment of the superstructure.
