Abstract
442,457. Cleaning swimming ponds &c. DAVIDSON, A., 59, Ashley Drive, Edinburgh. Sept. 17, 1934, No. 26615. [Class 138 (i)] A machine for cleaning swimming ponds, tanks, &c., comprises a rotary drum A pro. vided with squeegee blades N and located within a casing D which is supported with a slight clearance at the sides from the floor of the swimming pond. The drum is carried by arms E, F which are pivoted on spindles carrying wheels I, J, and is driven through gearing by the wheel J as the machine moves along the floor. The drum spindle extends through arcuate slots in the casing and is held in position by wing nuts O. The top of the casing is provided with connections W to a pump by means of which sediment may be removed. Rubber-covered rollers Q, R fitted inside the casing in slotted bearings act as a trap for sediment. The machine is drawn across the bottom of the pond by means of ropes fastened to eyes U on the top of the casing.
