523,814. Washing vehicles. HAAS, E. Jan. 16, 1939, No. 1371. Convention date, Jan. 14, 1938. [Class 138 (i)] A plant for washing vehicles or goods running on rails, comprises a set of rails-1, 2 and also one or more, as shown, three, conveyer bands 8-10 on which small articles or individual parts may be carried, for example in baskets, through the washing apparatus. The latter comprises steam compartments 3, 4 and washing and rinsing compartments 5 and 7 with sprays supplied by pumps 16-18. The bands are arranged at a somewhat higher level than the rails, and are driven, collectively or individually, by a motor. The bands may comprise means for pulling a vehicle along the rails, or a separate hauling arrangement may be provided for this purpose. A pit below the rails accommodates tanks for washing liquids and also the lower run of the bands.
