Abstract

595,901. Washing bottle stoppers. DAWSON BROS., Ltd., DAWSON, D., and DAWSON, G. July 21, 1945, No. 18747. [Class 138 (i)] A machine for washing bottle stoppers and like small articles comprises a soaking section A and a washing and rinsing section B, through which the articles are fed in an endless conveyer to a draining section C. The articles are introduced through a feed hopper 1, having banles 2 to control their passage, on to a conveyer belt 3 which carries them through the soaking section A and thence upwards into the section B, crossangle pieces being provided on the belt to carry the articles up the incline. In the section B, the articles are sprayed from jet pipes 5x, supplied from a pump 10 driven by a motor 9 which also drives the conveyer. The soaking and washing tanks are heated by steam pipes 12 and the washing tank is fitted with filter trays 13 to prevent particles of labels returning into it. From the section B, the articles are carried through a shoot 6 into a wire mesh collecting basket 7 in the draining tank 8.
