725,127. Washing fish. ANDREWS, D. Nov. 17, 1953, No. 31910/53. Class 28 (2). Fish on an endless conveyer belt 17 are washed as they pass under rotated brushes 21 to 24 which rotate at a higher linear speed than the conveyer while sprays 50 spray both the brushes and the belt. The upper run of the belt 17 runs in Z formation over rollers 15 and 16 in which the roller 15 may also be driven as well as the roller 14 from a motor 36 and reduction gearing 41 through a clutch 45. The inclined front run and the horizontal rear run of the belt 17 are backed by tables 18 which may have small anti-friction rollers 20, The fish placed on the incline move up thereon until they tip over on to the horizontal run so that both sides are cleaned. The surface of the conveyer belt may be roughened or perforated.
