An endless conveyer 14 of a portable loading machine is supported in a bearing 13 so that it may be swivelled horizontally and vertically by independently operated piston-and-cylinder devices 17, 18 secured to opposite sides of the conveyer and supported on brackets 15, 16. Material is fed to the conveyer over a shovel 21 by a scraper such as is described in Specification 749,260.
