888,962. Floor cleaning machines. GRASMANN, J.. and GRASMANN, Jun. J. Nov. 21, 1958 [Nov. 23, 1957], No. 37629/58. Class 138 (1). A floor cleaning machine has one or more motor driven, roller brushes 11 which throw dirty water against one or more smooth drums 15, the latter being mounted parallel to the brushes, rotated at a lower speed, and provided with a stripping bar 21a to deliver dirty water to container 21. The drum 15 and brushes 11 are driven by an electric motor 4 through shaft 7 and bevel gearing, the speed ratio between the brushes 11 and the drum 15 lying in the range ten to one to twenty-five to one. A movable guard 24 is provided with a rubber strip edge 27.
