441,602. Free-wheel and variablespeed hubs for cycles. DUBAN, M., 152, Rue Du Onze Novembre, Saint-Etienne, Loire, France. Aug. 20, 1935, No. 23418. Convention date, Aug. 23, 1934. [Class 136 (ii)] A free-wheel cycle hub, provided with sprockets of different sizes for variable-speed. chain gearing and with one or more roller bearings, comprises a hub body 1 provided with an axial extension 2 supporting internally a roller bearing 3 and externally a member 8, which is screwed on the extension 2 and is provided with a collar 9 supporting the freewheel pawls and forming a race for the inner of two spaced ball bearings 11, 12 on which a driving member 10 is mounted. The pawls are engaged by a ratchet ring 15 screwed on the member 10. The outer bearing 12 is provided with an adjustable cone 13 screwing on to the member 8. The driving member .10 is of polygonal section externally, for the reception of spaced sprockets 16, which are interchangeable and are secured by a nut 17.
