[Class 136 (ii)] [Also in Group XXIV] A free-wheel hub for cycles or other machines comprises a tubular hub-body 14 having a counterbore 52, mounted within which and complementary thereto is a tubular race-and-pawl support 55, having a bore for pass:ng an axle 13 and rotatably carrying a sprocket-supporting member 72, pawl-and-ratchet means 64, 73 serving to effect a uni-directional drive between the support and member, and a plurality of sprockets 95-97 being provided on said member The hub has an axially extending cylindrical wall at each end for receiving anti-frictional bearings 23, 123 and this wall supports an oilsealing ring 25. The tubular portion of the support 55 is threaded into the counterbore 52 and the sprocket-supporting member 72 is of .polygonal cross-section to engage within similarly shaped apertures in the sprockets 95-97.
