Abstract
440,922. Pistons. BUGATTI, J., Molsheim, Bas-Rhin, France. March 14, 1935, No. 7930. Convention date, March 29, 1934. [Class 122 (i)] In an engine or like cylinder fluid leaking past the packing rings is collected in grooves 16, 17 and discharged through ports 8 in the cylinder wall. These ports may be connected with a signalling device for indicating excessive leakage. Lubricant inside the piston passes through holes 19 to grooves 18 in the piston bearing surface. The ports 8 may be so disposed as to be uncovered at the end of the stroke.
