Abstract

439,301. Pistons; cylinders. SKODA WORKS, PLZEN, 37N, Jungmannova, Prague. June 20, 1934, No. 18285. Convention date, June 21, 1933. [Class 122 (i)] In a piston having selflubricating packing- rings 50, the slide surfaces of the piston are provided with insets 52 of self lubricating material in the form of rings or segments. The inserts may be mounted in a carrier 48, the weight of which may be supported by springs and which may be formed of metal or self lubricating material. An air blast is applied through a passage 57, valves 58, 59 and ports 55 to the slide surfaces for cleaning and cooling purposes and escapes through a port in the cylinder wall. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also the subjectmatter of Specification 437,832. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
