Abstract
440,561. Cables. LONDON ELECTRIC WIRE CO. & SMITHS, Ltd., and ABRAHAM, J. R., 7, Playhouse Yard, Golden Lane, London. June 23, 1934, No. 18639. [Class 36] An overhead conductor comprises a stranded strengthening component formed of an austenitic stainless steel and a conducting component constituted by a, metal such as copper, aluminium or a copper alloy, having little or no electrochemical potential against the austenitic stainless steel. For instance, copper strands of circular cross-section are laid up around a stranded cable formed of the alloy known under the Registered Trade Mark "Staybrite." The conducting component may be formed of strands of sector shape in cross-section.
