440,333. Valve circuits for wireless reception. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., Ltd., Electra House, Victoria Embankment, London, RUST, N. M., 109, London Road, and MURPHY, F. M.'G., Orchard Lodge, London Road, Chelmsford. May 28, 1934, No. 15876. [Class 40 (v)] In a tuned highfrequency amplifier the grid is tapped down on the capacitative branch of the input circuit so that the impedance between the control grid and cathode is small relative to the reactance of the capacitative impedance in series therewith. The impedance between the control grid and the cathode may be, as shown, a condenser 1C1, or a series tuned circuit resonant below the working frequency, or a parallel tuned circuit resonant above the working frequency. The single tuned circuit may be replaced by a tunable band pass filter, Fig. 5 (not shown), and a number of amplifiers in cascade and with gangcontrolled tuning may be used.
