437,306. Valve circuits. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., Ltd., Electra House, Victoria Embankment, London, and WRIGHT, G. M., Lordlands, Little Baddow, Chelmsford, Essex. April 28, 1934, No. 12902. [Class 40 (v)] In homodyne receivers of the kind in which tuning is effected by varying the frequency of the homodyne oscillator, the tendency with such arrangements for the oscillator to move out of step with the received carrier is prevented by replacing the usual fixed inductance and variable condenser in the oscillator circuit by a variable tapped inductance or variometer 3, tuning with its distributed capacity. Where a tapped inductance is used a small shunt condenser may be used for fine tuning. In the arrangement shown, the oscillator is constituted by a back-coupled homodyne detector 6.
