Abstract
437,305. Valve circuits. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., Ltd., Electra House, Victoria Embankment, London, and WRIGHT, G. M., Lordlands, Little Baddow, Chelmsford, Essex. April 28, 1934, No. 12901. [Class 40 (v)] The local oscillations applied to the detector of a homodyne receiver are modulated bypotentials obtained by demodulation in the receiver. The local oscillator 11 comprises a back-coupled triode, the oscillations from which are applied to the homodyne detector 9 through coupling 12, 5. The oscillations generated at 11 are modulated by the demodulated output of the receiver 9, 10, through transformer 21, 19, this coupling being variable both in value and sense. By this means any degree of modulation can be obtained in the demodulated receiver output, or the modulation may be removed, the amplified carrier being utilized at any other stage, e.g. for locking in step a local oscillator.
