438,723. Gas stoves; radiants. PARKINSON STOVE CO., Ltd., Stechford, Birming- ham, and ATHILL, L. C. H., Terminal House, Grosvenor Gardens, Buckingham Palace Road, London. May 22, 1934, No. 15176. [Class 126] A radiant for gas-heated apparatus such as gas fires and grillers is composed of rods b formed of stainless steel or nichrome strip bent to a trough section and loosely mounted in supports substantially at each end in closely spaced relationship in a carrier. The rods may carry helical windings of stainless steel or nichrome wire. Holes for the passage of the gases may be pierced in the rods. In the construction shown in Fig. 1, the rods are carried at their ends in holes in the sides of a frame a and are held in place by cover strips c. A refractory backing f is carried in a sheet-metal casing g having tongues h by which it is attached to the frame a. Fig. 7 shows the complete assembly arranged in a horizontal position above a metal reflector j in a gas fire. The mixing-tube s of the burner r is arranged behind the reflector. The front legs of the stove carry blocks of moulded heat-insulating material m, and the rear support n is formed by a pivoted U -form member by adjusting which the angle of inclination of the fire may be varied.
