Abstract

Gas fires.-A gas fire or heater comprises backwardly inclined straight or curved supports r, grooved to receive the ends of horizontally disposed radiants, and a bunsen burner m mounted parallel with the radiants and mainly below them. In the simplest form, Fig. 8, the supports r have extensions r' forming feet, which are connected by screwed rods u, the burner itself forming a third connection if desired; or, as shown in Fig. 6, the supports are mounted on a base plate c which also carries the burner. These forms are suitable for placing in an existing fire-grate. A self-contained form, Figs. 1 and 3, comprises an outer framework composed of front pillars a<1>, a<2>, base c carrying the heating elements, top b, back d, and an inner casing g, all connected by lugs and screws. The top may be perforated and the casing may have a flue outlet.
