Abstract
373,385. Gas stoves. KEMPTON, C. H., Stangate House, Westminster Bridge Road, London, and BISSELL, W., 8A, Castle Street, Warwick. May 7, 1931, Nos. 13560 and 19090. [Class 126.] In a gas heater of the kind comprising a stand carrying a bar burner 12 heating a radiant extending upwardly from it and composed of a substantially vertical openwork screen, the radiant 18 is of inverted V-shape in cross section, both sides being of openwork formation over substantially their whole area. In the stove shown in Fig. 2 the radiant is formed of a sheet of wire gauze bent to V-shape and carried by a frame consisting of side members 19 connected by a top cross-bar 20, over which the top of the radiant passes, and lower cross-bars 21, to which the lower edges of the radiant are secured. The radiant may be corrugated similarly to the modified form shown in Figs. 3 and 4, which is composed of corrugated metal strips 24. The radiants may be formed of nickel tungsten steel alloy. A firebrick 22, or a steel or other reflector, is arranged behind the radiant, and a hob 16 is provided on the top of the stove.
