[Class 126] To secure uniform heating over the grilling area of a gas-heated grilling device, the apertured grilling plate or plates 1, 2 form a downwardly-directed cavity extending over sensibly the whole area, the combustion gases from burners 8 adjacent the edges of the concavity passing up into it. In the form shown, the rectangular plates 1, 2 are supported in inclined positions to form an inverted trough-form cavity, the angle # being between 10‹ and 35‹, and preferably between 15‹ and 25‹. In a modification, a curved arch-shaped plate is substituted for the plates 1, 2. In further modifications, the grill plate is in the form either of a hollow square-based pyramid, the burner extending round all four sides, or of a part-spherical dome which is heated by a circular burner.
