Abstract

434,361. Adjustable drive mechanism. SWIFT, G. W., Bordentown, New Jersey, U.S.A. Feb. 26, 1934, No. 6168. Convention date, June 8, 1933. [Class 80 (ii)] An adjustable drive mechanism for machines such as shown in Specifications 412,127 and 434,366, [both in Group VIII], for altering the phase relation between two shafts comprises an electric motor 85 mounted upon and revolvable with a gear housing 84 carried by one of the shafts, shown in the Figures as a sleeve 83 driven by a spur gear 82. The motor 85 drives worm gears 86, 88 to produce angular displacement between the sleeve shaft 83 and the shaft 89 the housing 84 being provided with slip rings 93a, 94<a> and 95a for the electrical circuit which is controlled by a suitable switch.
