[Class 138 (i)] [See also Group XXIV] Mechanism to operate a windscreen-cleaner comprises a cam plate which is attached to a reciprocatory rod and is in engagement with a crank on a shaft carrying the cleaner blade, reciprocation of the rod oscillating the crank shaft through 180‹. In the construction shown in Fig. 2 (Comp.), the cam plate B is formed with a groove B<1> engaged by the crank pin C. In the construction shown in Figs. 1 (Prov.) and 2 (Prov.), the groove B<1> is of the form shown and the pin C is maintained in contact with the upper wall of the groove by means of spring-pressed levers F.
