[Class 7 (vi).] The end of a sleeve valve 1 is provided with a groove 3 which is engaged by a fork 9 fixed to a small guided cylinder 5 reciprocated by a crank 15 on a countershaft within the crank case. In a modification, the cylinder is reciprocated by a cam on a shaft against the resistance of a spring mounted within the cylinder.
