Abstract

239,203. Tebaldi, A. Sept. 1, 1924, [Convention date]. Valves.-Engine pistons having inlet valves slidably fitted thereon and actuated by inertia are provided with means for reducing the shock of impact between the piston and valve. The valve 2 shown seats on the end of the piston and is limited in its movement by the engagement of slotted extensions 7 on the valve with the ends of a spindle 4, which is secured centrally at 9 within the hollow gudgeon 3 and has sufficient springiness at its unsupported ends to take up shocks.
