Valves: valve-gear.-A lift valve A, although more than one valve may be used, is actuated positively in both directions by gear comprising a pair of cams Q W which engage respectively the end of a valve rod N directly and a bellcrank U connected to a pin 8 on the valve rod. The valce lever L bears upon a collar F on the valve stem and is engaged upon its top side by a loose collar held down by a spring J. An igniter 0 is mounted in the stem of the valve.
