428,644. Valve gear. THOMPSON PRODUCTS, Inc., 2196, Clarkwood Road, Cleveland, Ohio, U.S.A. April 3, 1934, No. 10075. Convention date, April 13, 1933. [Class 7 (vi)] Clearance is automatically regulated by providing the fulcrum 42 of the valve rocker 30 with a wedging-cam 40 which bears against a spring abutment 50 and is connected to a spring 44 tending to increase the wedging action. The spring 44 has its ends connected at each side of the rocker to blocks 46, which carry the fulcrum 42 and slide in guides on the engine. In a modification, the cam 40 is mounted on an eccentric on the fulcrum 42, the spring 44 acting between the cam and the eccentric. In another form, the wedging-cam is mounted on an eccentric provided on the fulcrum of an overhead valve rocker. Specification 408,131 is referred to.
