Abstract

209,685. Bentley Motors, Ltd., Burgess, F. T., and Hewitt, H. S. July 16, 1923. Cams.-A cam bowl D is inserted axially in a recess formed in a rocker or lever A, for example of an internal - combustion engine, and is held in position by a strip or plate E secured to the rocker. In some cases, the rocker may be of light metal, such as duralumin, in which case the retaining plates for the cam bowl extend along each side of the rocker for stiffening purposes. The bowl D may be of hardened steel tube having its wall thicker at the middle than at the ends.
