491,269. Engine valve-gear. SCHWEIZERISCHE LOKOMOTIV-UND MASCHINENFABRIK. Aug. 16, 1937, No. 22510. Convention date, Aug. 20, 1936. [Class 122 (ii)] A cam is provided with the ordinary cam surfaces b .. e for normal running, and a cam surface f which extends over an angular range of at least 90‹ and is of reduced lift h<2>, for starting. In the event of the engine running away on starting so that, e.g. the wheels of the locomotive slip, the steam supply is throttled so that the draw torque is decreased automatically and harm avoided.
