[Class 123 (iii)] A separator in the drum of a watertube boiler consists of two groups of imperforate corrugated spaced plates 15 arranged on opposite sides of the dry steam outlet 14. Steam flows into the separator through perforated screens 34, arranged in front of the steam passages between the corrugated plates. The steam may be washed before entering the passages with pure water supplied through pipes 32 and sprayed into the spaces between the screens 34 and the separating passages. Further screens 24 are arranged in front of the outlets from the passages. The separator is drained through a U-shaped pipe 41 having a limb open at the top and an open ended pipe 43 projecting into the limb to a point above the water level in the boiler drum.
