432,952. Joining pipes by casting. CLARK, J. S., 78, Restalrig Road, Edinburgh. March 29, 1935, No. 9846. [Class 83 (i)] Moulds.-Soldering metal is cast about pipes to be joined by means of a two-part mould a, b having grooves f and g, Fig. 3, for clay packing, and clamping bolts c. For smaller pipes packing pieces k. Fig. 4, are inserted in the mould. Fig. 6 shows a modified construction for making a T-joint. The inlet h has a partition j. The mould is of cast iron and is cooled with water after casting.
