859,677. Pipe joints. VERK-METALL A.B. Nov. 13, 1958, No. 36515/58. Class 99(1). A pipe flange comprises a ring 1, Fig. 2, e.g. of castiron or steel, in which is secured an annular liner 3 of a non-corrosive material, e.g. a metal or a plastic, to which a pipe inserted in the bore 2 can be soldered or welded, and means whereby similar contiguous pipe flanges may be clamped together. The radially extending portion of the liner may partly or completely cover, or may be flush with, the end face of the ring, and may be fixed axially as in Fig. 1 or may be rotatable within the ring. In a method of producing the flange by centrifugal casting, the ring 1 is sandwiched between chill mould plates 4, 5 which have shaped recesses 6.
