Abstract

497,046. Moulds for casting pipes &c. centrifugally. HUME PIPE & CONCRETE CONSTRUCTION CO., Ltd., and STONE, W. L. June 12, 1937, No. 16396. [Class 87 (ii)] A mould for centrifugal casting of pipes and other hollow bodies from concrete or like mixtures comprises a casing a formed in longitudinal halves or other sections which are brought together for attachment over outer peripheral surfaces h, furnished by end rings e, f forming a permanent part of the mould and presenting tyres g for horizontal support on rollers. The mould sections may be joined at angle irons b by clamping bolts q. The annular surfaces h engage the mould internally and are secured against rotational creep by pegs or dowels k. The mould and rings are secured together by external clamping rods passed through holes j. The rings may be formed with extensions e, f<1>, to form spigot and socket or other end shapes and with internal cylindrical surfaces x to receive water rings m. The mould may be reinforced by bands d. The bolts q are bent to a right angle and are mounted to swivel in webs p and engage open slots o in the irons b, being secured by nuts r.
