Abstract

208,058. Baines, C. W., and Stanton Ironworks Co., Ltd. Feb. 27,1923. Centrifugal machines; moulding pipes and tubes.-In moulding concrete pipes &c. by centrifugal force, the mould is provided with a rib or other strengthening means around an enlarged part thereof. The mould a is formed in two semicylindrical portions fastened together by longitudinal flanges c, and fitted at the ends with flanged rings a<4>, as held together by tie-bolts b. The enlargements a<8> at the ends of the mould are strengthened by T-iron structures f and circumferential bands g. Cylindrical recesses e for forming branch pipes are inclined to the axis of the mould and are provided with formers h held in position by hinged cross-bars h<1> having hinged bolts h<3> which engage in slotted abutments h<5>. The formers are made in two portions expanded by packing means. Plugs j allow the formation of sockets at the ends of the main pipe.
