216,710. Smith & Davis, Ltd., and Cockill, A. H. June 27, 1923. Butt joints.-In pipe couplings for outlet fittings for baths, basins, or the like, the ends of the trap pipe 1 and discharge pipe 2 are provided with flat radial external flanges 7, 8 which are housed in cupped portions 6 of a pair of clamping - members 3 adapted to be drawn together by bolts &c. 5 in the outwardly extending portions 4. A flat packing- washer 9 of the same diameter as the flanges 7, 8 is located between the flanges and housed partially within the cupped portions 6 of each of the clamping-members so as to be centralized thereby.
