Abstract

1343328 Manhole structures FACHVERBAND STEINZEUGINDUSTRIE EV 21 May 1971 [26 May 1970] 16288/71 Heading E1C A manhole structure is constructed from a number of arcuate segments 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 9 having radial end faces by means of which they may be jointed at 8, the joints running vertically when the structure is assembled at its place of use, at least two of the segments being adapted for connection to pipes. Preferably, liners 7, 10 of stoneware, concrete, asbestos-cement, cast iron or plastics material are fitted into sockets in the segments 2, 9, respectively, for the connection of pipes of the same or (as shown) different diameters. The segments, which are preferably cast from concrete, are preferably made in standard arcuate lengths, the illustrated plain segments 3-6 being of 60‹, 30‹, 20‹ and 10‹, respectively, and the segments 2, 9 adapted for connection to pipes being of 60‹ and 90‹, respectively.
