Abstract
1400595 Interconnecting concrete members DOWSETT ENG (AUSTRALIA) PTY Ltd 3 Oct 1972 [23 Nov 1971 30 Nov 1971 20 Jan 1972] 45622/72 Heading E1W [Also in Division F2] Structural concrete elements, a column 10 and beam 11, are interconnected by means of sockets 16, 17 embedded in the faces of the elements which abut. A spigot member 12 in the form of a tube with a blanked off end is slidably mounted within one of the sockets 16 and is moved into engagement with the other socket 17 by pressurised air forced through the pipe 21 driving the spigot piston like. Alternatively magnetic or mechanical devices may be used to move the spigot. When in position the spigot is locked in place by bolts 20 passing through aligned holes 18, 19. Concrete grout is then forced into the cavity 13 behind the extended spigot.
