Abstract

1360954 Joining concrete piles M LAINE and M LOUKOLA 27 Nov 1972 [13 Dec 1971] 54754/72 Heading F2G In order to join the abutting end shoes 13, 14 of two concrete piles, I or C-section rails 7 are hammered into aligned channel-section members 9, 10, so deforming the interengaging flanges 8 and 11, 12 as to provide effective gripping between them. The members 9 and 10 may be welded to the shoes 13, 14 and to the pile reinforcement 23. Ribs 15 bite into the underfaces of flanges 8 or into the faces of flanges 11, 12. The flanges 8 or 11, 12 may be flexed by the interengagement.
